painting the living space is one of the main task in decorating the interior. choosing the right color for it is influence to our mood. we may choose our favorite color for the living space paint which will make our house is home sweet home.
we can make two group of colors, they are light colors and dark colors. painting by light color for the room, it can make the room seems larger. but the opposite for dark color, the room will seems narrow.
in the other hand, here are the meaning of the colors which will effect to our mood when we paint it to our living space:
- red, orange, and yellow are known as warm colors. These warm colors evoke emotions ranging from feelings of warmth and comfort to feelings of anger and hostility.
- blue, purple, and green are known as cool colors. These colors are often described as calm, but can also call to mind feelings of sadness or indifference.
- living room: it is nice to paint the living room by the orange color, because the orange is warm and welcoming. light green is also comfortable for living room because it gives calm feeling.
- family room: it almost same with living room, that you can painting the family room by orange color.
- dining room: same with living room and dining room, it needs warm color to increase the appetite. red color is psychologycally speaking, increasing blood presure, heartbeat and energy in most people. it instills feeling of intimacy and passion. Red also increases the apetite, which explains why it is used so often in restaurants, and why it can be good choise for a formal dining room. as we know that may food are green, therefore we can use light green for dining room.
- bed room: it need calm and cool color for bed room. blue, purple, and green are known as cool color. in this part blue is ideal for bed room becuase it makes us feel calm and tranquil. for children bedroom it will be nice by violet.
- kitchen: we can use green in midtones. and we can also use light color for kitchen.
- bath room: we can use light color for bathroom or it can be mixed that using dark color for the bottom part and light color for upper part.
- foyers and hallways (coridor): it needs light color for painting this part. it can be yellow. as we know that yellow is warm color but it more attention-getting than either red and orange. for this reason it is a good paint color to use in poorly lit foyers or dark hallways (coridor)
